Dr Matthew Tallis is an environmental plant biologist at the University of Southampton. He holds a BSc. in Biochemistry and Physiology (Sheffield) a MSc. in Environmental Science (Aberdeen) and a PhD in SRC cropping in future environments (Southampton).  His research considers the interaction between trees and the environment, across multiple scales from the molecular to the canopy.

Role in Carbo-BioCrop.

In collaboration with Forest Research (http://www.forestresearch.gov.uk/) he is currently working to develop ForestGrowth-SRC (a process based model for SRC production). In particular, data collected from WP2 and within WP3 will allow for parameterisation of a soil module for ForestGrowth-SRC. He is also helping Professor Gail Taylor with overall coordination of Carbo-BioCrop.
